Terms of Service for Mofy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

Mofy (github.com/ikouchiha47/mofy) is a free, personal-use media library app for Android, developed and maintained by an individual developer. By installing or using Mofy, you agree to these terms.

1. What Mofy is

Mofy helps you browse, search, and watch movies and TV shows you already own. It runs primarily on your device: your catalog, watch progress, and search indexes live in a local database on your phone. There is no Mofy server and no Mofy account.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Your media. Only add media you have the right to possess and play. You are responsible for complying with the copyright laws that apply to you.
  • Your credentials. If you connect a Google account for backup/sync, keep your device and Google account secure. Anything done through your connected account is your responsibility.
  • Your backups. Mofy can copy your library data to your own Google Drive, but it is not a backup service. Keep copies that matter to you.
  • Fair use of third-party services. Mofy relies on services you do not pay us for — Google Drive storage and the TMDB metadata API, among others. Do not abuse them (for example, by hammering APIs or circumventing their rate limits), and respect their terms: Google Terms of Service and TMDB Terms of Use.

3. Third-party services

Features that touch Google Drive or TMDB are subject to those providers’ terms and policies in addition to these. If a provider changes or restricts its service, the corresponding Mofy feature may degrade or stop working. That is outside our control and does not entitle you to anything beyond what a free app owes you, which is nothing.

4. No warranty

Mofy is provided as is, without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It is a personal project: there is no uptime guarantee, no support SLA, and no promise that your data survives a bug. Back up accordingly.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss of data, loss of access to third-party services, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Mofy. If you do not accept this, do not use the app.

6. Changes and termination

These terms may be updated; material changes will be posted at this same URL with a revised effective date. You can stop using Mofy at any time by uninstalling it and, if applicable, revoking its Google account access at Google account permissions and deleting any Drive files it created.
